2014 Summer Program

Beyond Education Academy (BEA) proudly provides the students with Learning Center Concept (LCC) through its Summer Programs. Learning Center, also called "Learning Station", is situation around the classroom that a teacher sets up for students to work in either small group or individual activities. The center has supplies and materials that work well together and give students the tools to complete activities and mini-projects - either in groups of two to three students or individually.

Although learning centers are typically found more often in elementary and middle school classrooms, this technique has been found to be effective with high school students as well.

The programs/courses of BEA Summer Program are designed as enhance training and curriculum transitional practice. The following is the defined explanation for our key components of the 2014 Summer Program:

•         Extensive Reading is to aim at the reading habits formation as well broaden the information intake.

•         Enhancive Writing is to establish the foundation for future academic writing

•         Public Speech is to encourage the students in organization and proper expression of the ideas

•         Read/Comprehension focuses on main ideas and detailed information retrieve from various contexts and apply to the understanding

•         Math/Science trains according to Alberta Curriculum and national references

•         Current News Event Reading/Writing English writing model adopted by some Private/Charter Schools in Alberta and nationwide in relating to the real world news events

•         Research Projects train on basic researching and filtering capability from information pool

•         Chinese Language steps on fun oral conversation and storytelling of Mandarin

•         Chess brings both Western and Chinese game strategies for fun and brain

•         Art/Drawing adds on aesthetics concept and appreciation
